I have been through that many times, it is very frustrating, and just like
Maggie said !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like banging my head wall-to-wall!!! All
we can do is educate our lovely/dear clients with our knowledge; whoever will
learn from us, thank you God, and those who just don't want to
understand/listen (one of the reasons being that the others' lower $ suits them
fine), well we could hope that they will learn one day.

Ladies and gents-whenever I get a phone call asking if I do gels, I ask the
potential client what they actually had done on their nails. They ALL tell me a
brush was dipped in liquid then a powder. Then they polished, put a gel coat on
and put me under a light.
You know it is so damn tiring of having to explain the crappy tactics of the
chop shops.
I always tell them that this is a ploy to the public that knows nothing about
nail products. I do not use the word ignorant public to them because most
people use that word in the wrong context and I do not want to alienate a
possible new client.
When they come, I show them what gel really is and they cannot believe that
they were duped.
I had one of my clients tell me her daughter had gel on from one of our local
chop shops. I tried to explain to her that it is not gel, but she insisted they
were.
Do any of you think that fighting with the chop shops is a losing battle? You
know, they want to be called nice names but do nothing to change the way they
are.
Isn't it bad enough they use MMA and hurt the clients? I guess not. Sad.
I, too, tell my clients that there is NO such thing as a powder gel.
Sigh....
Buenos dias,

I have heard of the Le Chat Powder Gel; however, there are ``some salons``
that say that they are applying ``Powder Gel`` on their nails, when they are
actually using the good `ol MMA liquid+powder and then slapping on a gel
topcoat.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It`s obviously a Marketing
Strategy since women are asking for gel, and they do charge more for ``the
service``
