Well Maggie, from what some clients have told me is that they feel sorry for them. They feel that they must need to work like that but the biggie is that they do not speak or understand English. Now this is the chop shops not nss. We have a few very upscale American nss in my area. There IS a difference. So they feel sorry for them. If I lied to them, would they feel sorry for me? I highly doubt it. If I cut them with the dremel, they would sue me. I got a new client from one of the local chop shops that ripped the side of her toe and it bled for days. She went to the podiatrist and needed antibiotics. Did she sue them? No. I would have lost my house if I did that to someone. But the chop shops make their own rules. I went through my PA board newsletter and you would not believe the violations from MOSTLY chop shops. I marked all the ones within close driving distance to me so my clients can see this. I can imagine the next thing will be discrimination. Follow the f<€£|%g rules. I have to; I WANT to. Oh-- about two years ago I saw one of those JUDGE shows. Could have been Joe Brown. Anyway, they--a CHOP SHOP-- were being sued for cutting the foot of a client with a pedicure. They tried the not understanding English crap with the judge. Well they lost. Had I known that THAT was the show I would have DVR'd it and saved it for posterity!!! Do you know that most clients think getting your nails and pedicures is supposed to hurt??? THIS is what they are doing to our industry. I would love to hear what others are being told. I have heard that they have good work ethics. Well so do I and most of you. I work many more hours than the chop shop directly across the street, so I cannot think that is even remotely true!! Great thread. Think I will blog on this!!! I know that the CA state board rules and regs poster that we are required to post in a public place but no one ever reads says that our Board can address issues such as incompetence, negligence and false advertising.... So why isn't the public getting mad enough to do something about getting "duped?" We hear so much about how litigious our society is, yet we rarely hear about anyone getting ticked off enough at the NSS to do something about it! Why is that?
