I Just want to address one statement as it has a lot to do with how I am
teaching SOG all over the world.

There was no “Manicure” about it except, the prep work needed before
applying and enhancement. They were all other forms of Enhancement and the
terminology was advertizing “Buzz Words” to make the client who did NOT
Want Enhancements, be Enticed to give it a try.

While this might be true of other manufacturer's it is not for Eco (Star
Nail International or our other brand CuccioPro). How the technician
performs the service and charges for the service decides what category it
becomes. Manicure or artificial enhancement. Some manufacturer's will tell
you to do SOG as a service and get $80 for it. To me, this is another
artificial enhancement 'service'.

The way Tony and I are training it, we're saying to do the colors as a
polish alternative WITH your manicure service. Be it a Cuccio Spa manicure
with UV SOG color OR whatever manicure your doing now and charge 10 -15.00
more for the color on top of the manicure cost. Right now techs get $0 for
polish application. This takes 15 minutes of your service! So if it takes
you 20 minutes or even 25 minutes to do the color but you're getting 10 or
15 more...how can that be a bad idea? I am sure you'll find more clients
willing to pay 10-15.00 (in addition to your manicure) than you will find
willing to pay the 50-80.00 suggested.

And yes the application may take a wee bit longer as you are getting used to
it (how long did that first red coat take you in school? A hell of a lot
longer than it does now)...but you'll get faster with practice. Once it is
done, it's dry. No smudges to repair.

So what's Elaine's point? As I ramble?? The product doesn't determine the
"service category"... the tech does when he/she prices and creates the
service. Personally, I choose addition money for color. That will drive
more customers to the salons that say, "Why should I pay a salon or spa for
a manicure if my color is just going to chip in a few days?". We all really
don't have a grand idea how many people are NOT coming to the salon for a
manicure because they feel the color does not last long enough.

That's my ramble. LOL

OH and one last thing. I don't think you all should feel guilty about using
buzz words to advertise your services. The buzz words are smart marketing
with one goal. Drive clients to your door not your competition. There is
nothing wrong with that, so long as you deliver what you are advertising.

Kind Regards,
Elaine T. Watson
