What happened with the Dashing Divas? I was thinking of checking them
out at Premiere.

That is EXACTLY what it did for my nails. I have the breaks and
tears and recently acquired a split on my pinky.
The SO does help. My nails looked pretty good until I applied the
Dashing Diva full wells. My nails took a beating with them and now I
need to reapply the SO to help grow without tearing and breaking.
I also saw the Shellac. It felt the same as the Axxium.
There are visuals and buzz words that make people want things more
than others.
For the client, just SEEING a polish bottle screams better-- to
THEM. When they see product applied with a brush out of a pot, it
screams FAKE nails!!
(As I write this Ozzy's new song, Let Me Hear You Scream!!! LOL)

Thanks, Sheryl! That really clears a lot of things up for me. I
appreciate your taking the time to share your insight with us. So,
for the client who is having some natural nail issues like chinks on
the free edge which quickly break down, splitting, or needs a little
more strength but isn't willing to go as far as enhancements, would
this be enough to add a little bit of strength? Or is it basically
just like having polish on?

Just to pre qualify myself for those who don’t know or don’t
remember me on this list, I have been here for a long time. I have w
orked and Educated for Manufacturers, and I have worked with several
Gels. This is My Opinion on the differences I see.
The “No Chip Manicure” are buzz words that have been around
for more than 5 years now most recently used to promote SOG. This h
as been a Misleading Misnomer. Meaning it was the improper use of a
term to get you and your clients to give it a try. There was no “Ma
nicure” about it except, the prep work needed before applying and en
hancement. They were all other forms of Enhancement and the terminol
ogy was advertizing “Buzz Words” to make the client who did NOT
Want Enhancements, be Enticed to give it a try. The End Product was
always much thinker and heavier than we and the client really wanted
. The removal was a problem, as has been discussed on this list and
many times, and it did effect the natural nail.
Shellac is a Hybrid engineered to be a form of UV Polish. In My
Humble Opinion it is the first TRUE “No Chip Manicure” to hit the
market. There is no Comparison between IT and SOG. One is an Apple
and the other a Watermelon. It is in a bottle and applies like polis
h. The only difference is that while one hand is being Polished, the
other is in the light curing. It takes no longer to apply than a GO
OD Polish Job IMHO. It is not a 5 minute “slap it on” process,
don’t misunderstand. You want good even THIN coats . It does NOT lo
ok heavy like SOG, it does NOT look like and Enhancement. The solid
colors are solid on the first coat and the sheers are beautiful. It
is self leveling and does hide some imperfections in the nail surfac
e. Talk about an easy French?? You’ve got it here. It looks like a
beautiful well applied manicure. Clean up around the edges? Simple.
The first 12 colors released cover a broad range and I can’t wait to
see what the next release will be.
There is NO Buffing on the nail surface what so ever. So of all
the products I have seen this one will Not damage the Natural
Nail. I particularly liked the soak off process. Ten minutes, the
client can read or what ever, not tied to a smelly bowl. I like the
pads and can see them being purchased for other SOG people are
currently using. I Myself will try them on AC as well. They are Self
Warming. I am trying not to give away too much because with any new
product you really need to take the class and SEE how it is done. We
are Visual Learners in this industry and I suggest you go and see it
done properly by a CND Educator who can answer any question you
might have.
There is No Comparison between Shellac and SOG. I think this
product will change the way” Everyone Who Tries It” will do
business. This may be the beginning of “The End” of Traditional
Manicures as we know them. It is THAT different. BTW I do not now
nor have I ever had any affiliation with CND.
