Hi Nicole,
I worked during my second pregnancy doing nails and baby boy PJ is just
doing fantastic! He is now a very handsome 26 years old, works as a computer
technician and his IQ falls into the "genius" range. So... so much for THAT
argument! I asked my OB/GYN about doing nails while pregnant way back then,
and he said as long as it didn't involve an aerosol that I would be inhaling
(hairspray anyone?) that it would be fine. Have her ask her Dr. and if he has
a concern, she will need a note from the DR!

I'll throw in my 2 cents here. I just delivered my baby last Monday. I did
ails in a salon for the entire pregnancy and the baby is big, happy and
ealthy.
had a great pregnancy and smells didn't bother me. Maybe she's got the super
meller some women get during pregnancy?!?
aybe she could move stations away from you if the nail smell bothers her that

One of the stylists is pregnant. This is her first baby and not only is she
ounger, but she's a little "young minded", to be diplomatic. She's kind of a
lippy little thing, lol. She has it in her head that I can't do nails anymore
ecause she's pregnant. Now I explained to the manager that if go by her logic
that nails smell) then she can no longer do perms or colours and may as well
ust quit.

She hasn't actually said anything to me, she's just giving me dirty looks,
ol. The manager came to me quietly to ask about it. Nice kid, but if she's
oing to be a parent then she needs to grow up:P

I know truckloads of industry professionals with herds of children that worked
n salons during their pregnancies and not one of their kids popped out of the
hute looking like batboy from the World Examiner tabloid. Same goes for
airstylists. Up to their elbows in perms and colours, and perfectly normal
hildren.

Help? Anyone? I am surprised that I've been able to go 14 yrs in this industry
efore having to deal with this.
