German Pancake
6 eggs
1-1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbs sugar
1 pint ( 2 cups) milk
1/2 pound butter

Beat eggs lightly, add flour, salt and sugar; then add milk. Beat 5
minutes in all. Batter is thin and smooth.

Melt enough butter in a wide fry pan to coat bottom and sides. Turn
and slant pan to make batter spread into a large, thin pancake. Cook
til bubbles, turn, and cook other side. Makes 4 to 6 pancakes.
We loved these as kids and you've reminded me of them for my
grandchildren. Hope your Dad likes them too!

For Florence in Illinois. This is my cousin's recipe, and he makes
the BEST Jerky in the world:

Frank Munsey's Dry Marinade For Any Meats
18 oz. sugar
3 oz. black pepper
9 oz. salt
2-1/4 oz. MSG, or Accent
3 oz. Garlic Salt
2-1/4 oz. Dry mustard
3/4 oz. paprika
2 oz. Chili Powder

Sprinkle heavily onto meats, and rub in good. Marinate in fridge, in
a baking pan, overnight, or 10-12 hours

Bake covered at 350 degrees for 2 1/2 hours, then UN-cover and cook
another half hour.

This is for Robin in the 8/1 newsletter. She was asking about caramel
that stayed soft for rolls. The recipe I use was given to me by a
lady who makes THE best cinnamon rolls and it has always stayed soft
for me.

Caramel for Cinnamon Rolls
2 lb. brown sugar
2 sticks butter (not margarine)
1/2 pint whipping cream
1/2 cup white Karo syrup

Cook until butter is melted. Sometimes I let it cool before I put the
rolls on top, but she says it doesn't really matter if it's cool or
not. Now I'm going to have to go make some cinnamon rolls! Yummy!
