talking about a plywood cabin sole, then perhaps what it needs is a light
sanding and new varnish. You will be able to do a much better job if you
pull them out and do it in a shop, but you might be able to do it in the
boat. There are a lot of finishes these days. A glossy, tough polyurethane
would probably do well. Careful about sanding too much - you will go through
the thin decorative veneer.
