alternating lightwood/darkwood that I always figured it to be
the veneered face of a type of plywood made especially for
marine use. It might even be teak veneer - which would explain
your weathering, but brings up another question.....cause if
they were teak planks (not!) then you could bleach and then oil
them. But does one do that to veneered plywood?
Or maybe you can get some scraps of this type of wood from
Corsair and experiment on them.
Ours looks fine, but I wouldn't mind finding out how your
re-finishing works out.
