I think you misundersood my response.

Basically, I don't care if your signature is PGP. That doesn't resolve a
virus issue from anyone else.

I am sure everyone in the group is smart enough to realize we are not going
to send a virus file named NudePicsOfAnn.exe. Very nice your network is
locked up, now you only have to help the other trillion people on Earth.

No offense to you or anyone. Attachments doesn't matter to me either way.
Locking down your system so your kids can't do anything. Well, that's up
to you how tight you want to make it. Only way to be secure to that
degree is to turn off the internet. Secure wifi? Ha!

I just wanted to opine here that when you setup a network to share your
internet connection, it is your responsibility. (Not speaking as a
person who is afraid of catching something from you, because MY systems
are beyond secure... but speaking as a fellow citizen of the internet).
You need to secure your wi-fi. The FBI will not be interested in your
excuses that it was not secure when they kick your door for all of the
nefarious deeds that were perpetrated on your account.
You are ESPECIALLY responsible for your children's machines. It should
not be possible for a kid to get a virus, because their system should
ALREADY be locked down to the teeth to keep them from accidentally (or
purposefully) stumbling into pornography. Your wife? Your roommate? Take
some responsibility as network administrator.
