| finding a suitable inductor... I currently like the Bourns SDR1806 series, for nixie supplies upto 40mA. Mouser has them, but so do most other distributors. The Coiltronics UP4B series is also good if you need more output. They're a tad beefier. They're both surface mount devices, but they're BIG parts, so you can tack leads onto them, if you like. I do, for prototypes.
