Is it regulating ? If overloaded, it can never get to that voltage. As Nick stated, if you followed guidelines faithfully, there should be no issues. That's a pretty finicky chip, if misused.
What's the rating on the coil ? Can you give us its part number. I did not see a current rating. The coil, is the most important part, of a boost supply.
