I have built a couple of Pete's kits, and now his are all that I will use. I find them the easiest to put together, and with the replaceable tube feature, it makes the clocks almost endlessly customization.
I will be interested to see your housing when you get things machined. I too am an analog guy, always writing things down and trying to do the work myself. I have used emachineshop.com, and their very easy to use CAD software. Keep us updated on your clock process. Always glad to see Nixies put back in action.
