My Series one will be here next week and I have been cramming in all
the research I can about them as I prepare to refurbish this thing and
commission it into my studio.
I have learned that the direct outs on this console are unbalanced and
Erik (The guy I bought it off of) from this list was nice enough to
send me links explaining how to balance these circuits but I wanted to
see if anyone here has ACTUALLY performed this mod. I am still on the
fence as to wether or not it is a necessary procedure so any
information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. The console
will be a front end to my Pro-tools rig and I will use it for tracking
and mixing although I have some high end pre's for the crucial
tracking. (I realize of course that they may not be as good as the
NEOTEK pre's are but that still remains to be seen.)
Also, I contacted Sytek about a manual and they want over $200 for one,
can I pay anyone here quite a bit less for a copy of theirs (a link to
one would be nice too.)
