it is not the 2 mix trim pots.......how do you make sure a channel is not feeding the 2mix?.......how would you send a tone through the board to yr. tape machine if it was not feeding the 2mix?......

They are 2 knobs right above the solo, mute in place, mono logic switches. Maybe this might be it. All so make sure that the channels are not feeding the 2 mix as a L/R pan would pose a difference.
