Ah,
The SII doesn't use ribbon cables, at least ours doesn't. There are
a pair of motherboards that link everything together. The new
receptacles are gold plated. I have gold plated male headers for the
channel strips that I can add at my leisure. I'm tired, but also
excited that this is finally done. The Molex part number for anyone
interested is 0009483106

The main problem with our 1986 Elite is the ribbon cable is pushed
into the 'teeth' of the molex connector and that is it, job done.
Which has never seemed to be a particularly stable connection.
Not familiar with the Series II, perhaps it's a different set-up.
