I think that getting a console from a working recording studio is
different from getting one that is ex-CBS, ex-Julliard, ex-Whatever
College, as the latter are far more likely to have been "rode hard and
put away wet" as they say. So, yes, you have the good luck to own a desk
that comes from a good home. Would it benefit from some restoration
work? Sure. But, the wonderful thing about Neoteks, as Brian Roth
pointed out here a while back is that you don't _/have/_ to do that work
most of the time as they run cool and are very gentle on caps (also,
Neotek used good, long lasting caps in the 1st place). Other desks, MCI
and Neve come to mind often NEED to be re-capped or they just won't work.
