There do exist rpms for nessus on RH8.0 at

http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrpms/testing/nessus/

Unfortunately the packager grabbed the latest released sources from nessus
only a few hours before 1.2.6 was released. Maybe he will respin for 1.2.6
before adding this package to the very fine apt repository he maintains at
http://freshrpms.net.
