Hello,

I have already downloaded the GUI GTK client RPM from the site.
I have already installed the 3.0.5 Nessus server in a linux machine.
I wanted to know the following,

1. I need a GUI access in Linux to use the Nessus as shown in the Demo in
Nessus website.

you don't need it, but it's nice. there is a command line client in
/opt/nessus/bin. The demo shows using a GUI client, so to emulate the demo,
you will need the GUI.

2. For this, should we need a GTK Client?

to emulate the second step of the demo, yes, that is the GTK client. It's
the older version of the GTK client, but it should be similar

3. If so, Should this GTK client run in the same machine where the Nessus
server is running?

It does not need to, but it can. the Demo specifies "localhost" which
implies that it is running on the same machine. If you want to emulate the
demo exactly, then yes, have the client and the server on the same machine.

4. Kindly guide me the complete steps to install and use the Linus GUI based
Nessus access as I didnt get more information from the Documents provided in
the Nessus site.

I am not sure what step you are at. Can you detail what portions of the
installation you have done? Is there something specific that you are not
sure you completed as listed in the installation instructions at
http://www.nessus.org/documentation/nessus_3.0_installation_guide.pdf ?

Thanks & Regards,
Girish
