Are you sure?
I've just run configure from a clean 5.2.5.pre1 tarball,
and it *definitely* tries to enable embedded perl.

However I've just spotted that it reports the version as "5.5.dev".

Wes - what's going on?
Is this the 5.2.x code or current trunk?
