It's a well argued essay and I highly recommend it. I particularly
enjoyed its fresh take on the GPL and the art historical context that it
provides for free culture licencing. And the conclusion is excellent.

One thing I'd highlighter in to the margins is that copyright licences
are neither necessary nor sufficient to create an alternative economic
system or to make a political statement other than that culture should
be free.

I'm overdue on blogging about this, but I'm not convinced that the LAL
is better for art than CC-BY-SA *unless* one is trying to keep art
separate from the rest of society. Which is a defensible position but
I'm from a more Pop tradition. ;-)
