As I have told you privatly after a unwarrented very abusive mail from
you this morning the latest 2.88b and 2.99 drivers from VMC for the
Hypercom3Z fail when called with a "Cannot open hypercom30z.device"
error message. The previous versions will initialise the device and
allow mice to be used on the 3Z. My version of the 3Z has a hardware
problem identified by VMC with "full duplex" mode on it's serial ports
and a fix is in the pipeline. The latter is not my opinion as it is
reported on VMC's own website on there support page!!

The hardware problems occurs on the old hypercom cards. Full details
as to the problem are on there site. I woul'nt expect the newly
manufactured cards to have any problems. Would you?

All reports I make are clear, concise and phrased neutrally. I do not
post abusive or sarcastic bug reports (as they are counter
productive). Thr problems with the older cards are well documented on
the newsgroups so obviously I am not an isolated case. Hopefully my
problems will end when the fix for my 3Z is posted to the VMC support
pages.
If you have any doubts on my reports check my postings to CSAH and
ask for details of reports I have made to the authors or manufactures
of IDEFix97, HSMathLibs, PFS2, WordWorth, ADoom, AmigaQuake, Napalm
and Foundation.
OK I will take a step and accept your word for it that the a1200 card
drivers maybe fine, especially on the latest versions of the hardware.
If you re-read my post you will see that I stated that it was a
possible cause of the original posters problems. You will also see
that I mentioned that I have a 3Z and that the card will work (but not
in full duplex mode and so not for online use at the moment) with the
older drivers.
To me that is a driver problem not hardware, especially as "genesis"
and the mice drivers don't have a problem accessing the ports it
cannot open the driver!!!
Anyway all of the issues on my hardware and the 3Z have been between
me and VMC. Also as I didn't buy the card from you Chris you have
very little to do with it.
I wonder if the original poster would do me a favour and send in a
more detailed report of his problems along with his driver version
details. If possible can he try the older versions (pre this years
2.88 beta1 and 2 releases). However if it turns out to be a driver
problem I will expect an appology.
Personally I am still trying to work out what as got Chris so annoyed
with me. All I have done in the past is report problems and bugs
along with any causes or fixes I have identified if possible. All I
get back is denials of the problem (Voyager and MD2 enforcer hits
effecting only me apparently) and now a personnal private attack and
threats.
Cheers Chris. Thanks a lot.!!
> VMC are not on holiday, email them on [EMAIL PROTECTED]
OK I will try again then, but I should'nt have to repost the bug
report time and time again. At least they could do is reply even if
it is "Nobody else has the problem".
> Jason, I'm going to take this up in private mail now. I'm not happy.
Never would of guessed it! Did you get up with a hangover or
something this morning?
