Hello Graeme
I see Philip has suggested you try V3, but in the meantime are you sure you
have all the other settings set to fasted speed?
Mine may not be the fastest but I have serial port settings of 31.250, 65.536, RTS,
none, 8, & 1.
modem V.90 as per AFCD connects at 40000+ to Freenet and the Genesis/Modem
(Device tab) shows baud=57600, buffer=16384, RTS, & High speed mode.
(Commands tab) Init string with %C2 added to give V.42 bis data
compression.
V's MUI screen is set to Multiscan Porductivity, 640x490, Display depth of
8, and V's Config/Images/General use double buffered is ticked, dithering is
FS, JPEG is Two Pass.
With these settings I find the speed of images appearing depends on the Web site
visited.
Some help perhaps?
Michael.
