If this CD drive is of the Zappo type, ie it has a short interface
cable that plugs directly into the PCMCIA, then it isn't SCSI, so
you'll only be able to use either the Squirrel or the CD drive at the
one time. Note that these drive usually aren't even real IDE/ATAPI,
so you can't connect them to the internal IDE interface either, IIRC.
