I was just going to bed, when Ian McColl wrote this and I just HAD to read it:

Eh? No. That's a random header which I swore to delete months ago
(because it's rubbish) and just haven't bothered.

True, they should have checked a few first, and maybe they did. I
really don't know what's gone on here, which is why I said I'd let
Chris take over on this bit, if he wants to (Chris being Mr Wiles,
top-head-important-bloke at Active if you don't know).

I haven't actually read any docs yet. I don't know if they work or
not! Far too boring unless you're stuck completely.

I'm no expert, but I wouldn't have thought those patches would do much
to affect NC3. I still think it'll be a MUI compatibility problem
somewhere. If you right-click on an image in Octopus, does it just
crash or do you get a menu?

It would, but it's not just NC that uses MUI. Dozens of other programs
would suddenly stop working. If you're sure you don't have any other
MUI programs installed, you could always delete them by hand (from
MUI:libs/mui/#?)

Firstly I haven't tried Help so I don't know about that. Are you
running Snoopdos? This will tell you everything the system is trying
to do, so you should be able to find out why it can't locate the
guide.
Secondly, I've never wanted to remove the fastlinks, but I think they
disappear if you delete them all. Obviously this is no good if you
want them back again (without saving the setup as something else and
reloading it when you want the fastlinks back).

I'll have a look later, if I remember.

It's under the "Javascript" tab which is hiding at the bottom of the
list. It should go (reading down) Security ; Certificate ; Mail\News ;
Javascript. Untick "Warn on parse errors" to hide error messages.

Mail any bug reports to [EMAIL PROTECTED] , and you can track the
progress of your reports on http://bugs.vapor.com
I'll also suggest you send a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "help"
in the text. You should then find out how to subscribe to the vapor
update list which lets you find out about the latest updates for all
Vapor products (and so all products in NC3).
This may be a bit wrong (can't remember offhand), and possibly
redundant due to the vapor_update.library we now have.

> "JS"?
Sorry, JS = JavaScript.

No suggestions here I'm afraid. I learnt basic, spent a couple of
weeks on C and got bored with it/ran out of time, so I've no need to
learn/understand MUI.

Nope. I haven't found a way of importing them. The old ones will be in
Netconnect2:programs/microdot-ii/Microdot.Addressbook if you want to
try.
I only have about 7 though, so I just retyped them.

Well I saw him at this year's WOA, but didn't actually speak to him,
so, er, no :)

Paul C,

... Some more samples of New Elements for the Periodic Table:
1) Canadium, Eh: Similar to Americium, but a little denser.
2) Innofensium, Pc: Precisely equal numbers of electrons, protons,
neutrons, leptons, quarks. Completely inert, utterly useless, but smells
like a rose.
3) Cabmium, Cb: Found in abundance, except when needed. Exists in two
states, in motion and at rest. When in motion, it cannot be stopped, no
matter what you do. Cabmium has a charge associated with it. The charge is
variable, and scientists have not determined the formula for calculating it.
