Would this only be with the original serial port?  Buying a newer one
would fix this right?

Is there any similar possible problems like this which could
*possibly* cause a linedrop using the internal serial and a gfx card? 
I know that the gfx card will take the strain off the old AGA but i
still get linedrops, but I blame RHA at the moment...
