You have more -- and better -- documentation than you'd think.
>From your NetDynamics installation directory, look in
     Docs/res/*/*.pdf
For instance, Docs/res/objframe/iof.pdf explains the object framework:
read it early and often.

Then, AFTER you've read the *.pdf files, I think you will find the
(reference) information that the Studio provides will be much more useful.

And, if you are adventurous, you might get a copy of Together/J
(www.togethersoft.com) and use it to examine NetD's object framework.
"Parental warning: some (dis)assembly required."

WRT IDE: Look through the discussion group archives: there have been
messages about this within the last 6 months. Symantec Cafe seems to be
popular -- you could search for that.

Subject: [ND] Newbie : Can I not use Studio at all ?

Hi all,
I just started exploring ND . Could someone tell me if it's possible
to not use the Studio at all ? i.e. I wish to use my own editor to type
out the html and java files, do my own java compilation, manually copy
the class files to the right directory and whatever needs to be done to
get my app running.

I have expeienced other app servers like Oracle and Netscape, and
both allow me to do this. But I find that developing for ND is very much
tied to the Studio. Either that or I don't understand the architecture
well enough at this point in time (not much said about this in the
docs).

Could someone point me in the right direction ?

Thanx a lot...

Wee King
