Hi Howard,
Can you be more specific about this? I am not aware of any support changes
to the timelines; for ND3, ND4, and ND5 we promise full support for two
full years after we stop selling the version.

Again, more specifics would help. When did you buy ND4, and were you
thinking that you could do J2EE with ND4? I ask because ND4 doesn't have
any J2EE features; J2EE didn't exist back then.
Upgrading from ND4 to ND5 is often quite easy. There are some known issues
with some databases (like Sybase in particular) but in general, a good
rule of thumb is to download ND5, install ND5 on a different development
machine, make a copy of your ND4 project, and open it in the ND5 Studio.
Can you try this, and let me know if there are any problems?

There was supposed to be a release, and there will be.
The release is ND 5.02, and it has the J2EE features.
It will come out in the next few months, and will be
the stepping stone to IAS that you are expecting.

Here is the roadmap, which has been fairly consistent all year:
ND4 --> ND5 (gradual move from CSp to EJB) --> IAS 6 (next year)
The details and migration guides are being developed right now,
and you will have plenty of time (two years) to use ND5.
If there are specifics that you want answered, like "my salesperson
promised me that ND4 would support J2EE and now I find out it doesn't"
then let me know and I can check into the details of what happened
and how to get a solution for you. Also, if your salesperson says
something like "ND is dead and you have to buy NAS right now" then
get the salesperson's name for me and I'll look into it.
Cheers,
Joel
