Hi Joel,

The t-shirts would be nice, but it will take much more than that to get us to
upgrade to ND5 or to use iPlanet.

Hi Janet,

If you are using ND3, you should definintely check to ensure
that you are Y2K compliant at http://www.sun.com/y2000/cpl2.html
To download Y2K patches, use http://www.netdynamics.com/download

The upcoming migration guides will also include information on upgrading
from ND3 to ND4, and from ND4 to ND5. In my own experience, ND3 to ND4 has
been slower but gives huge performance increases, whereas ND4 to ND5 has
been fully automatic-- it took me about a minute for most projects.

My personal recommendation would be to hire a partner to come in and help
you get to ND5. As I wrote before, ND5 will be around for a long time, and
you can run your existing projects side-by-side with new ND5 EJB projects.
You will also be able to run ND5 side-by-side with the iPlanet App Server.

The partner with the best migration experience is Intrasolv Consulting,
at www.intrasolvconsulting.com. If you need outsourced hosting and
ND app deployment, also see WebYes/Breakaway at www.breakaway.com.
(I should give a disclaimer that I own some stock in Breakaway.)

Bill Lazar will know this; he is [EMAIL PROTECTED]

My personal experience has been that ND5 is so much faster,
easier, and cleaner than ND3 and ND4 that upgrading makes
good sense. Upgrading will also give you years of support,
and plenty of time to explore EJB and migrate to iPlanet.

And if people here *really* want a reward for sticking with ND,
let me know and we'll create some kind of awesome t-shirt. :-)

Cheers,

Joel
