WS>Subject: Preliminary Evaluation of Net-Tamer Version 1.12.0
WS>TO: David Colston
WS>Here are my initial thoughts and observations as to version 1.12.0
WS>of Net-Tamer -- for whatever they may be worth.
WS>longstanding problems that should have been dealt with before the
WS>release of version 1.12. CNN's website is as mainstream as they come
WS>among those read by people who have an interest in online news. Yet,
WS>Net-Tamer cannot successfully parse and display ANY page from CNN's
WS>I've mentioned -- several times dating back to last Summer -- the
WS>problem of Net-Tamer not being able to display .JPG files downloaded
WS>Why does Net-Tamer respond to the ESC key upon query for an E-Mail
WS>address -- when initiating E-Mail -- by taking the user to the address
WS>list to mark an address yet will not do the same when the user is
WS>prompted for CC information? Is there some rule of human existence
WS>that people can't remember and/or don't have the capability to
WS>properly type in the address of the person to whom they send mail yet
WS>have such capability when entering a CC address? The way Net-Tamer
WS>functions in this regard is plainly illogical, in my view.
EXCELLENT response, Walter.
It needed saying one more time, and you've said it most eloquently.
I bet you felt a lot better after getting that off your chest. <g>
Heaven only knows how DC thinks, but he's clearly happy with the
ridiculous "interface" he's created with NT, and is not going to
change it.
If only it wasn't such a unique and valuable program in other
respects. Then we could could just abandon and ignore it, with a
passing comment to DC to the effect "If you can't do better than
that then I'll go elsewhere."
Thank goodness for NTR and Arachne.
Mike
