Walter, I can usually use STEP 1 and then do "Alt-U" while the message 
is still displayed and Net-Tamer will decode the attachment, but . . .  

   >STEP 2: Return to the F3/Work menu and choose "Other Services."
   >(option F) From the menu that follows, select option I -- the
   >UUdecode option. You'll be prompted to select the path to the file

maybe this would work in those cases where Net-Tamer refuses to do 
anything when "Alt-U" is tried while the message is still on the screen.  
Thanks for posting the information on the menu driven method.
