The Net-Tamer doc (nettamer.doc) gives some information about getting
Net-Tamer to work in Win95, so it should also work in Win98. The doc
explains that you may have to manually set the IRQ in Net-Tamer.
Net-Tamer supports IRQ 2 through 15, so you should be able to set it to
whatever Windows uses.
I'm not sure whether a true software modem such as a PC-Tel HSP modem or
similar will work, since such a modem requires Windows to run its code.
Even a USR Winmodem, which is controllerless, and which requires a
Windows driver to operate, may not work with Net-Tamer. However, since
you would presumably be operating in a DOS window, you should still have
Windows drivers loaded. If the Windows drivers are still loaded, they
should also provide the necessary support for the modem.
