No, speeds must match exactly. Do you have interlnk and intersvr in a dos
directory on one of those machines? If so, this is a far better option than
commo. For one thing, you can use parallel ports on both machines and have
the speed up to 115200k for the transfer. For another, you have multiple
drives on machines when you do it this way, and that means if you have a
working version of xcopy.exe it can be used for the work. On the machine
without the floppy drive put a line like: device=c:\dos\interlnk.exe /auto
into config.sys. The machine with the floppy drive needs a line like
device=c:\dos\interlnk.exe in its config.sys file. Then on the machine with
the floppy drive, run intersvr from the dos prompt. You should get at least
one more drive on the machine with the floppy if I gave you the right
instructions and that will be an image of the hard drive on the machine
without the floppy. So then if the new drive is d: it's a matter of xcopy
d:\*.* c: /s /e /v <cr>. Of course you'll need a pc-link parallel cable or
a pc-link serial cable available in your local Staples or office supply
store to do the port to port connection. Hope this helps.
