Subject: the right way?

hi,
granted this is a touch off point, but i need to transfer the contents of
one hard drive to another in a different computer. i will link them via
cereal ports, and likely use something like como to make the transfer. my
concern is this, is there a way to do this with the directory structure and
such maintained, and if so how? also, while a modem is not required for
this, which is fine as the second computer has no modem, i am guessing that
transfer speed must match, or should the receiving machine be set slightly
slower?

it is not a lot of data, perhaps a hundred meg, but i have no other way to
get the data onto the other machine. as the sending machine has no working
a drive.
any thoughts on this, with those knowing that this does not apply tot hem
not withstanding, will be much appreciated.
thanks,
karen
