Dear All

Apropos the meeting next Sunday, I have a comment on the agenda. I feel the
third agenda point, 'Generic Structure of Teacher Training Programs for
States in India' is too general. I'd like to get to it after we discuss the
particular, that is our collective proposal to the Maharashtra govt. Please
read it on the wiki and come and even if you are not coming, send your
comments.

For now, I'd like to draw your attention to section 8, the closing part of
the draft proposal. It says: Free Software Foundation India will be the
coordinating agency and will be supported by:

   - IIT-Bombay
   - Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education of Tata Institute of
   Fundamental Research
   - Comet Media Foundation
   - IT4Change
   - I-LUG Mumbai, the GNU/Linux Users Group of Mumbai

1. I request the people representing each of these bodies to state:
a) what they can contribute, realistically
b) what part of it they could contribute as part of their mandate
c) what contributions would require payment

2. Apart from the bodies named above, if you would like to be part of this
initiative, please add your organisation to this list and name the areas you
could contribute to. Remember to specify if it would be voluntary, or if you
expect to get paid for your time. We need to work out our budget next.

FOSSCOMM is an informal and unregistered collective. How will we
administrate the project, what will be the management structure, will we
charge the Edu Dept, if so how much?

We need not discuss it on the list, and could hold it till the meeting on
the 11th, but I request you to think about it and come with suggestions for
a model to adopt. We have committed for a four-year run, and we should have
a system in our minds which we can always modify as the negotiations go on.

Thanks!

Chandita
