I was just trying to make the point that graphics is a good enabler. To raise another point which KK was trying to make in the other thread but without taking any examples. See this http://blog.whatwg.org/the-longdesc-lottery and http://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/att_img_longdesc.asp http://esw.w3.org/topic/HTML/LongdescRetention http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longdesc http://www.w3.org/html/wg/tracker/issues/30 Now as can be seen from those links above none of the browsers used longdesc . I also tried to push in google chrome on their discuss list http://groups.google.com/group/chromium-discuss/browse_thread/thread/d37734dd706b65bf but didn't get far. As said in that thread, there is another proposal for it which is called in whatwg ARIA-describeby but don't know much in details of that. It would be interesting to know of any FOSS browsers which implement longdesc in their browser . There is no info. on that in the stub on wikipedia as well. > -- > Vickram > http://communicall.wordpress.com -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 _______________________________________________ network mailing list [email protected] http://lists.fosscom.in/listinfo.cgi/network-fosscom.in
