accepted.  I was just trying to make the point that graphics is a good enabler.

Now as can be seen from those links above none of the browsers used
longdesc . I also tried to push in google chrome on their discuss list
http://groups.google.com/group/chromium-discuss/browse_thread/thread/d37734dd706b65bf
but didn't get far.

As said in that thread, there is another proposal for it which is
called in whatwg ARIA-describeby but don't know much in details of
that.

It would be interesting to know of any FOSS browsers which implement
longdesc in their browser . There is no info. on that in the stub on
wikipedia as well.
