I think that you are conflating various things. Because a cause
might be a noble one, it does *not* automatically follow that it
is germane every where. Saying that one should just ignore it, and
engaging in hyperbole ("there are people who feel violated...")
does not change the fact that the post was off-topic. If everyone
went by this principle, then every mailing list would become a
mish-mash of unfocused content.
I will appeal once again to everyone. Can we make this list stick
to the topic that it serves? Yes, that probably means needing to
define what fosscomm is, and what it does.
