An appeal was made by somebody. It was pointed out that it is off topic by
one who was not willing to respond to the appeal favourably. I think the
matter shall end there.

An appeal, let it be for any noble purpose, made these days, will not be
responded favourably by all. Because society is politically devided on class
basis.

Hence, the course open to lists like this is to allow those who want to make
the appeal and allow those who want to express opposition. Naturally, those
who are willing to respond favourably can do that also.

Please, donot make a mess of all these petty issues, wasting everybody's
time and energy which could be utilised for the purpose for which this list
is initiated.

Intervention is just to avoid perpetuating a split among the participants,
more and more of whom are aligning on one or the other side.

Every public agency has a duty to maintain its control over its
computing, as a matter of sovereignty. Using a non-free program means giving
the program’s developer control over that computing. Thus, public agencies
must reject proprietary software and move to free software. ---- Richard M
Stallman
