Actually, his repeated announcements seem to echo a belief that centralised education is the cornerstone of 'development'. Recent controversies about the use of particular languages for state matters roil the peace, but there seems to be little done about ensuring that any public announcement anywhere should be available in all other Indian languages, as soon as it is needed. Centralised education is a concept that is doomed to advocate single-language preferences, which counters the very basis of diversity in Indian culture.
