The open standards policy is still in draft stage, though there are hopes
that it may be approved soon. Even though the policy is a draft one, a
committee has begun work to evaluate various standards against the mandatory
criteria set in the draft. Can someone familiar with GIS data formats and
standards look at http://cots.nic.in/cots.tar.gz and see if GIS standards
are included in the same? If so, we should point this out to the Kerala
Government.
