Is the source available for the Windows (crippled) version? If you compile the (crippled) source, will you get a functionally identical binary? Can you de-cripple the source and recompile? If yes, then it _is_ compliant with the GPL. > Now as per my Knowledge GPL distributed software are FREE to use and > Distribute (only services such as distribution, etc. are chargeable). Great, you caught them admitting their error! If only it wasn't an error ... > How can users get converted to GNU-Linux just by making software PAID for > Windows? 1. Maybe he (Bruno) is just trying to do the world a favour, by writing GCompris. Maybe he is not interested in pushing "GNU/Linux" 2. OTOH, note what you are asking. You want to use GCompris on Windows. Bruno wants you to use GNU/Linux. Which of you is encouraging Windows? Raj Mathur has fixed my Linux servers for free. Maybe I should complain if he charges money to fix my Windows servers :-) We complain about how we need to pay a Windows Tax when we run Linux on our laptops. Now Bruno is charging a "Linux Tax" to Windows users. Oh, the irony, the irony. -- Sanjeev Gupta +65 98551208 http://www.linkedin.com/in/ghane
