It is interesting that getting out of piracy is viewed as an incentive. Is
there any reason to believe this is matched by actual human behavior?

There is no restriction. Anyone is free to do what Bruno has done, and then
distribute it for free, or even give away gnu keychains with it.

Where is the conflict?
