I have *heard* that Cyrix does not do well with Linux, period, but this is
just hearsay. I don't recall what sort of video hardware you're using
either... You really might want to consider getting a new processor and
leaving that Cyrix for WinBlows or Dos or something else... I really haven't
heard much good about the Cyrix chips after they virtually disappeared
several years ago... IIRC, they were considered somewhat "buggy" even back
when they made 486 chips.
