Hello Civileme, Oops - sorry about the HTML - I didn't realize it wasn't set to plain text.
OK - info about my computer. It's a HP Pavilion 7915, and I purchased it from a company that sells factory overstocks from HP. It came "hardware only" (FYI - it did have Win98 on it, but when I first installed XP it trashed that). Her are the specs I know: - Intel Celeron 1.1 Ghz Processor - Socket 370 Motherboard, 100 Mhz FSB (what is FSB). I don't know the make of the board, but it does have "Fresno" printed along one edge. - 128 Mb SDRAM PC 100, 2 DIMM sockets. I had 128 Mb added, for a total of 256. (NOTE - when the BIOS fires up it report 255 Mb's, not 256) - 40 Gb 5400 RPM Hard Drive - 48x CD-ROM Drive (LG) (original equipment) - 48 x 24 x 48 x CD-RW added (also LG) - 1.44 3.5" Floppy Drive - Intel 82810 Onbaord Video Graphics with 4 Mb of shared video memory (Integrated into chipset, no AGP slot) - AC97 Audio - Soundblaster compatible 16 bit 3-D Stereo Onboard Sound - 56K v.90 Modem PCI (Cheetah apparently) - Internet Multimedia Keyboard full size (104 key) - 2 button Mouse PS/2 - Polk Audio Stereo Speakers - PORTS: 2 USB, PS/2 Keyboard, PS/2 Mouse, 2 - 9 Pin Serial, Parallel, Joystick - JACKS: Speaker, Microphone, Audio In, Audio Out - Monitor - Not Included. I purchased a HP Pavilion mx 70. - HARD DRIVE is SAMSUNG SV4002H (Primary Master) - CD-ROM is LG Electronics, Model CRD-8485B (Secondary Master) - CD-RW is LG Electronics, Model GCE-8481B (Secondary Slave) - BIOS is PhoenixBIOS 4.0, Release 6.0, Core Version 4.06, Bios Revision 3.08 02/16/02 FYI - although the specs say "4 MB shared video memory, under the Advanced menu in the BIOS it says 1 MB. I also have a list of all my BIOS settings if that would be of any help at all.
