this is supposed to be linux bud
now windows wont allways identify a modem off of a port so this is where you 
manually install it using the disket that came with that thing. use add hard 
ware and specify what it is

as far as linux goes your sh** out of luck! 
winmodems are 100% compatible with windows and windose and did i mention 
windose??
