Try it and see... > Yes, the ADSL setting is for when the computer is connected directly to the DSL or cable modem, and you require PPPoE or PPPoA to connect to the Internet. When you are using a router, as you are in this case, then you just need to set your ethernet connection to a standard DCHP configured LAN connection. You need to do the same thing in ME.
When you have changed things to this, you should be able to ping your Linksys router, as well as connect to its Web page. If you have PPPoE anabled on the Linux box, then chances are you can not talk to anything on the local network. By the way, I thought the Linksys router included instructions on how to set up the machines on the local network.
