I bought a 250 G hard drive but my computer only recognizes 139

maybe Linux does not care about BIOS too much

~ after you have booted up, use < cfdisk > are check what size disk cfdisk is seeing [ prolly will see full size & thus no problem ]

No need to run Wine or Crossover Office . . . just use Open Office :))

I feel like the guy who can't figure out why his computer won't turn on only to discover it was unplugged! I haven't had a chance to look further but I used Diskdrake yesterday before I went to work. It does show the remainder of the hard drive. It just says it's empty. I don't know yet if I can actually use it(access it, format it,) but I'll give it a try over the weekend.

It may be that the bios limited the size of the partition on my computer but the rest of the drive is available to me as a seperate partition.

Flashing BIOS ____________

it is no big deal ~ sure to be simple instructions on the Mobo manufacturers web-site, however, you prolly do NOT need to do anything :))

Actually, if Mandriva lets me access the other part of the drive, you are right, I really don't need the bios upgrade.
