I've botched something but I don't know what. I'm trying to use
xchat to check out irc.freenode.net. When I open xchat and connect I
get this:
Looking up irc.freenode.net
* Connecting to irc.freenode.net (216.165.191.52) port 6667...
* Connected. Now logging in...
* *** Looking up your hostname...
* *** Found your hostname, welcome back
* *** Checking ident
* *** No identd (auth) response
* USER :Not enough parameters
* Closing Link: 127.0.0.1 (Connection Timed Out)
* Disconnected (Remote host closed socket).
Cycling to next server in FreeNode...
* Disconnected ()
I can't seem to find anythaing that tells me what I've done wrong.
I'm not even really sure how to use xchat or irc's. (Chat rookie!)
Anybody able to point me to the elusive answer-place?
