I've had AVG bring down quite a few win98 boxes whilst trying to remove one thing or another in DOS mode. It isn't perfect but it's free (as in beer), stable, up_to_date and does what all the other more expensive (that's easy, heh) candidates offer.....including the obligatory crash or freeze every now and then:) -- Good luck, HarM
