But I can't find an option to restart the PC?! Huh??
Anyway, so I logged back in and tried to do things and got "Klauncher
could not be reached via DCOP" as an error message.
It was at this point here I said bad words to it very loudly and hit the
reset button...
Now it's rebooted I haven't got the above error message.... Hmm
Pass me the axe dear :(

next time it gets that bad, do a ctrl+alt+f4 and login to the text
console as root, and try a "shutdown -h now" (or any of about 2 dozen
other commands like 'reboot')
this 'enhancement' (no user shutdown) might be a function of which DM
you are using and what security level you have it set for.
