Per-Anton, your woes seems to be that your sources for 10.0 main and contrib
do not exist anymore. I just checked and those mirrors don't have 10.0.
Hence the message from curl : cannot cd (change directory).
In your situation I would do as follows :
In a root terminal :
rpm --rebuilddb
urpmi.removemedia -a
Then, copy the text from my attached file into the root terminal and press
<Enter>. If the scrolling stops without your root prompt (#), press <Enter>
once more. When the root promt appears, you're done.
This should give you valid sources. Then, use the GUI to install what you
want.

I did all this, it seemed to work well. No error msgs.
I then installed fro GUI, which terminated normally.
But
$rpm -q gcc
reported that gcc was not installed.
I then did:
$urpmi gcc
That seemed to go OK, so,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] par]# rpm -q gcc
gcc-3.3.2-6mdk
but this one (3.3.2) did not work the last time.
Next, compilation, with a new error msg:
gcc:installation problem, cannot exec 'cc1plus': No such file or directory
----------------------------
I am *sweating*, it seems to be quite a riddle to find a gcc compiler
for 10.0!
But thanks anyway for all help, I am getting the routine to install
software now, which is a good thing.
What puzzles me is that installing 3.4.1 gave the same (previoiusly
reported) error message.
So what on earth can this be? Do I have to updrade from 10.0 after all?
Any fresh ideas??
